At The Refuge Church, we recognize we are living in a time and culture where the weight of being a first responder is a heavy burden to bear. Our hope for this Sunday is for our church to give a small token of gratitude for the way first responders serve our community each day. In 1 Peter 2:13, we as Christians are called to submit ourselves to the authorities and institutions that God has placed in our lives so that they can "punish those who do evil and praise those who do good". We know that first responders across our country are given the task to be first on the scene for car wrecks, shootings, fires, suicides, and terrorist attacks. However, as civilians, we will never know the chaos and heartbreak that is seen by first responders on a week to week basis. Our hope is that The Refuge Church would be a place of encouragement for the first responders in our community.
Who is invited?
All first responders and their families. We are asking all first responders to wear their Class A or B uniform.
